RiverRoad Boys do Always...Patsy Cline at Crighton Theater

Hi friends,
As you may already know, the band has been in rehearsals for the
"Always...Patsy Cline" musical stage play which will open on January
31, followed by a Sunday matinee on Feb.1, and again on Feb.6. at the
historic Crighton Theater in downtown Conroe, Texas. This play will be
benefitting the Humane Society of Montgomery County.

Produced by Sharity Productions of Conroe and directed by Marjean
Creager of the Huntsville Community Theater, the show stars Mary
Allen-Keating as Patsy Cline and Lastell McVey as Patsy's
Houston-based friend, Louise Seger. Musical direction is by Cindy
Rohe, Stage Manager is Margie Eglsaer, Technical Directors are Doug
and Cindy Mullins, all of whom are associated with the Huntsville
Community Theater. Jason Keating is Stage Hand and Costume
Manager/Dresser.

Based on a true story, Patsy Cline and Louise Seger actually met at
Houston's infamous Esquire Ballroom in 1961 while Patsy was on tour
and became real close friends. Mary and Lastell are wonderful
actresses and do a really outstanding performance as Patsy and Louise.

We are very proud and honored to be the "Bodacious Bobcats," Patsy's
band, during the play. We will open the show with a short set as The
River Road Boys then transition to the stage setting for the play as
the Bodacious Bobcats.

Whether or not you've already seen this play elsewhere, you haven't
seen it with The River Road Boys or these outstanding actresses. If
you haven't already gotten your tickets then by all means, call the
Crighton box office at (936) 441-7469 and get them reserved right
away.

After the show on Saturday, January 31 there will be a street dance
outside the theater at the Corner Pub, featuring Larry Butler and his
band, Jimmy Copeland, Jimmy Dry, and others, all who graced the stage
at the Esquire Ballroom in its heyday. There is also some historical
significance associated with this performance; not only did these
other bands actually play at the Esquire, including the River Road
Boys, Clyde Brewer played the original opening night at the Esquire in
1955. The Esquire's owner and manager, Mr. Ray Proske will also be in
attendance Saturday night along with some of the Esquire "regulars"
who used to fill the dance floor. We look forward to seeing you there,
sharing in the fun and excitement.

We have attached a flyer which has more information.

Update on Don Leatherwood

This is the latest I have heard about Don Leatherwood.

It's to late to call so I'm e-mailin y'all . All the test results are
good. Iwill have a "cathscan"(? ) done on Feb.2 They run a camera up
the artery in the lower leg, thru the heart and look for and repair any
trouble found. They make it sound like a very routine procedure. I
feel that the prayers of all my friends have been answered. I know it
has made me feel real good to have so many caring friends ! God bless
y'all

TwoTons at Continental Club 1 3 09

This is a great band to go and see.

Two Tons of Steel might be described as equal parts Elvis Presley and Elvis Costello, with a liberal dose of Buddy Holly and a dollop of The Ramones. Its a one-of-a-kind sound .
