Texas Hot Country Magazine
Texas Hot Country Magazine, a monthly magazine started in 1991 as a print magazine by veteran country music journalist Leon Beck, is now online as well. Texas Hot Country Magazine, affiliated with two Houston country music radio stations, THE NEW 93Q and COUNTRY LEGENDS, covers contemporary country, classic country, Texas country and ‘50s/’60s/’70s pop and rock’n’roll. Recent issues have included interviews with Tanya Tucker, Kenny Rogers, Pat Green, James Otto, Steve Wariner, Justin Moore, Neal McCoy, Miranda Lambert, Jerry Jeff Walker, John Michael Montgomery and Johnny Lee. Other artists who have been interviewed in Texas Hot Country Magazine include George Jones, Mel Tillis, Crystal Gayle, the Bellamy Brothers, Dierks Bentley, Clint Black, Charlie Daniels, Lee Greenwood, Claude King, Randy Owen, Ray Price, B.J. Thomas, Don Williams and Clay Walker. Texas Hot Country Magazine directly targets the country music market, both online and in print.

Texas Hot Country Magazine editor and publisher Leon Beck started covering country music in 1973, and his interviews have been published in many local (Houston), state (Texas), regional and national magazines, including Country Weekly, Country Music Scene, Gilley’s Country Magazine, Music City News (both online and print), Country Rambler, Texas Country Scene Magazine, Best In Texas, Good Times, Nashville West, All About Beer and Country Spirit. Leon has interviewed well over 1,000 artists over the years, including George Strait, Garth Brooks, Dolly Parton, Ernest Tubb, Kitty Wells, Hank Williams Jr., Johnny Cash, Reba McEntire, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Tammy Wynette, Loretta Lynn, Conway Twitty, Tim McGraw, Shania Twain, Alan Jackson, Billy Ray Cyrus and Randy Travis. In the ‘90s, Leon published THE 93Q COUNTRY MAGAZINE and THE 93Q COUNTRY RADIO INSIDER which were also magazine supplements in the Houston Chronicle (750,000) and the Houston Post (365,000).
