Great news this week...My sister Alice has been battling breast cancer again and we found
out the chemo worked, almost shrunk the thing completely!  She had surgery to take the last
little bit out...all went well.  I spent the night with her at MD Anderson and we stayed up all
night long having a slumber party.  No drinks, snacks, movies, just interruptions....haha....
Thanks to all you prayer warriors that put her name on your prayer list!  Prayer Power wks...

Exciting news....I'm opening for George Jones Saturday night at the Arena Theater!!!
yahoo, wahoo, yippee,.....He's my favorite all time singer and I have been chasing this for a
couple of months, finally gave up.  They called Wed afternoon...(better late than never)..whew!
Been jumping through hoops to get it together...Very excited about this opportunity and hope I
don't fall off the moving round stage!  haha...Sounds like something I would do...haha

Ya'll be safe out there shopping...don't forget to lock your car doors and be aware of what's
going on around you.....lots of crazy desperate people out there these days!

Had a great time Tuesday night at the Broken Spoke in Austin for the Louise Rowe Benefit.  Louise was the only female musician Bob Wills ever had, I'd like to sit with her a few days & listen to all those road stories! Great to see this sweet lady again and what a ball of energy! She's struggling with Parkinsons and now undergoing cancer treatments but got up and played upright bass with the best of them!  What an inspiration to us all and we wish her the best.   Heres the scoop for the week.....

reviews on the food and setup for live entertainment.  Kinda takes you back to
the Texas Tumbleweed Days...but better! Come join us Friday night from 7-11 pm
Family venue         300 CB Stewart Drive, Montgomery, TX  77356

--- On
Well those of you who missed the party on the patio at Central Market missed a good time! What a great gig...had several friends stop by and hang out. Beautiful day compared to the torrential rain & flooding on Fri/Sat. I was sweating bullets on Sat as the water continued to rise on my street, cars flooding out everywhere. I just can't take another flood. Stil haven't unpacked everything from the last one! It was hard to get out of the subdivision--everything was flooded, but we made it.
I got several calls/ emails from people that saw Bad Bob & I on Hometown Live on Chl 13 Tues afternoon advertising San Jacinto Days Celebration.
This week....April 24th & 25th
Friday/Gabbys BBQ on Shepherd (duo) 6:30-9:30 pm
Sat/San Jacinto Days @ San Jacinto Monument 12:15-1:45
Reenactment of the battle/crafts, food, etc
Sat/Christ the Redeemer Church Bazaar on Huffmeister 7-11
Beer, bingo, food, games, music...we play it every year!! Great family fun.
Ya'll be safe and come see us somewhere!

Liz Talley's Performance Schedule

Hope everyone is surviving the gas prices & the heat! I've been running all over TX the last 2 wks & feeling the pain of both. July 3rd I went to the Grand Opening of XM Radio/Willies Place in Carls Corner. The studio is beautiful & I had a blast schmoozing & taking in all the great music! July 5th I was in Brady for a benefit for fiddle player Kelly Spinks & his band. They hit a cow on the way home from a gig in Fredericksburg & were all seriously hurt. They lost everything when the truck/trailer went up in flames. Those boys had a guardian angel with them that night! We wish them well as they recover.
Last Sat I played the Cameron Opry & then on to Cowboy Church in Pearland
Sun. Now we're in another week already! This Thurs (July 17th) I'll be at the Brenham Opry @ Silver Wings Ballroom@ 7pm. Friday--Chet & I will be @ Gabbys /Shepherd from 6:30-9:30 pm.
Next Fri (July 25th) Chet & I will be @ Gabbys/Pasadena from 6:30-9:30 pm.
Sat (July 26th)--the band plays a public dance @ VFW in Cleveland from 8-12pm. Mark your calendars for Sun (July 27th) for the Musicians Reunion @ Lone Star Saloon. Great fun! Every picker in town is there. Come see us somewhere....Liz
